Hello! Hope you are all having a FANTASTIC week!
Happy
Memorial Day! This is the first memorial day in 6 years that I'm not
marching in a parade which is kind of weird. And Congratulations to all
at Metea Valley who graduated yesterday!

We
kind of got into the swing of things here at the MTC this week. We
started TRC, which is teaching a real investigator, or someone who wants
to learn more about the Church. Our investigator is this really sweet,
older woman, who loves reading the Book of Mormon and knows everything
about the missionary discussions. We're trying to work with her on how
to receive a confirmation from God on whether or not baptism is right
for her.

On Tuesday Elder Dale. G Renlund of
the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles came to speak to us! In the
organization of the Church worldwide, there's a prophet who is also the
president of the church, and he has two counselors. Right below him
there is the quorum of the twelve apostles, the same organization that
Christ had with his apostles. It was absolutely amazing to hear from
him! He and his wife spoke together which I thought was really cute, and
it reminded me of how we're put into companionships when we teach. They
talked about the importance of the Sacrament and renewing our
covenants. This is partaking of the bread and water in remembrance of
Christ on Sundays. They told us that it's important to think about your
week before you get to Sunday in order to really think about Christ
during the Sacrament and how to change. He also said that "The sacrament
is the next ordinance we need after baptism, after receiving the Holy
Ghost, and after every other ordinance". It's a constant reminder of how
to become more Christlike.
Our district |
We got new
missionaries on Wednesday! There's 8 new hermanas and 3 elders. I didn't
get a picture of the whole zone, but there's a picture of the 5 in my
district and all the Hermanas. Hermana Loma left for New York this
morning, so we're really going to miss her, but she's going to do great!
Also, I officially leave June 7th for California!
All the Hermanas in our zone |
Side
note- I do have an ipad just for my time at the MTC, so I can read
emails at any time during the week, but I can only respond on Mondays.
Hermana Loma left us some face masks..... |
We
worked a lot on personal, district, and companionship goals this week. I
would encourage all of you to think of some goals in your own life with
you personally and with your family. For many it's the end of school
right now and Summer is the perfect time to start fresh and grow!
